Updated: Oct 1, 2020

Two Black girls from Compton, Serena and Venus Williams , have been dominating Tennis courts worldwide.

The Williams sisters were coached from an early age by their parents Richard Williams and Oracene Price. In 2002, after the French Open, Venus Williams and Serena Williams were ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, marking the first time in history that sisters occupied the top 2 singles spots in the world rankings.

My parents told me I’d be No. 1 in the world,” Venus said in a clip of the film made by ABC News veterans Michelle Major and Maiken Baird. “I was brainwashed.” Venus added.

Venus and Serena Williams have respectively won 49 and 73 titles. The sisters Williams met in nine Grand Slam singles finals. The video below help us to understand where and how the Sisters Williams coached by their father became both CHAMPIONS.
